What is Everquest?

Everquest is a game, just an online game. But to some, this is becoming more of an obsession, something that can take over your life as well as your time. If you’re interested in having one more thing that will make you less likely to be ready for things like A LIFE. Want to stay inside and play on the computer all day? Everquest is for you. And true, you might meet someone special while playing the game, but let’s face it, it’s not reall life. Mkay?

The Way Everquest is Set Up

Just like many MMORPG games, you will get a mission to play when you’re in the game and your character will need to finish the mission. You will create an avatar or character, slowly build up experience and skills, then begin to fight on your own or with the help of a group. You will want to become a part of a group eventually, as this will help you build up experience and skills more quickly. In this group, or guild, you can arrange to fight at certain times of the day, helping to advance yourself and others to higher levels of Everquest play.

The Roles in Everquest

In Everquest, you can become a number of different things, including:

  • Deities
  • Healers – clerics, druids, shamans
  • Crowd control – enchanters, bards
  • Casters – magicians, wizards, necromancers
  • Damage dealers – rogue, monk, ranger, berserker, beastlord
  • Tank classes – warriors, shadow knights, paladins

Each of the characters has skills they can use to advance themselves in the game. Over time, you can move to new roles, if you like, or you can start over to become a different role in the game as you gain experience.

How to Excel at Everquest

Just like any game, the more you practice, the better you will become at the game. Ideally, you should play at least every day to learn more about how the game works, how to use your control wisely, and how to beat certain other players. It’s advisable to work with another player, if possible, as this will help you learn more about the game from a player’s eyes. Or you can just jump in, get killed, and try again until you learn how everything works. That’s what most people do.
